Parking

The Parking System is responsible for the regulation and enforcement of parking ordinances within the City’s business and shopping districts. The Parking System maintains meter collections, meter repairs, and parking enforcement.

Parking Enforcement

Parking enforcement is in effect Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with the exception of holidays.

Parking Tickets

Tickets can be paid online here (24 hours after issue date) or at the Treasurer’s Office at City Hall. Questions, call 586-469-6800 (ext. 2).

Parking in the City

All electronic meters in Mount Clemens accept nickels, dimes, and quarters. You may also use the Park Mobile app or apply for a City Pass for designated lots. There is an EV spot available in the Roskopp Lot. The time limits and prices for meters located in Mount Clemens vary depending on their location. The parking rates vary from three to ten hours at $0.50 per hour to $1.00 per hour. A sign is posted on each meter indicating the rate for that meter.

Quarterly Parking Stickers

Quarterly parking stickers can be purchased through the treasurer’s office and used in the following ways:

  • The green, yellow, orange, and purple lots are $75.00 per quarter.
  • The red and blue lots are $100.00 per quarter.
  • Residents of the downtown may purchase stickers for the red parking lot for $85.00 per quarter.
  • Parking stickers are pro-rated when purchased after the quarter begins.
  • Stickers MUST be adhered to the driver’s side, lower window, no reversing into spots.

Temporarily Reserve Parking Spaces

Do you need to use a parking meter space for moving, deliveries, or a special event? You can reserve spaces to guarantee available parking for limited uses. For example, contractors working on a remodel can have easy access to supplies. We’ll put “No Parking” covers over the meters so no one else can use them on your reserved dates and times.

We only allow parking space reservations for specific uses. Reservations for everyday personal use are not allowed.

How it works

  • Call 586-469-6847 (ext. 515) at least three business days before your reservation start date. This gives us time to reserve the space or get back to you if there are any issues with your request. We are open 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • You can find the needed zone and meter numbers displayed on each meter itself.
  • You’ll pay $10 per meter per day.
  • If your plans change, we can cancel or change the dates of your reservation. If you don’t let us know, we’ll have to bill you for your requested reservations.
