Pay a Bill

Payment Options

Pay your bills anytime without registration, go paperless, schedule payments in advance, or set up AutoPay with e-check or credit card. You can also get email reminders, pay by text, or use the City’s interactive voice system at 586-300-2344.

Paying Your Bill Online

Access your online account to get started and set up preferences including: going paperless, adding a default payment method, setting up automatic payments and signing up for Pay by Text.

After-Hours Payments

For payments made after hours, please use the deposit box located inside Mount Clemens City Hall’s main doors. Payments made after 8 a.m. on the due date should be brought directly to the Treasurer’s Office, located on the first floor of Mount Clemens City Hall to avoid being marked late and potentially incurring penalty fees.

Water Bills

For water bills and services, the City of Mount Clemens is available Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Using the extension below, call 586-469-6800 for assistance with:

  • Water appointments: ext. 502
  • Billing questions or final bills: ext. 303 or 304
  • Payments or shut-off status: ext. 322 or 323

Final Bills: Final readings must be scheduled with the Accounting Department at least 24 hours in advance. Please have new owner or tenant information ready. Once processed, be sure to cancel any registered accounts through Invoice Cloud.

The water and sewer rates in the City are as follows:

Water $5.79 per unit
Sewer $7.15 per unit

You are billed water and sewer charges for each unit of water you use.

Each unit is 100 cubic feet or 748 gallons.

Every household is billed for service charges whether usage occurs or not – even if the water has been turned off. These charges fund the maintenance and upkeep of the water and sewage systems.

You may pay your bill at the Treasurer’s Office located on the 1st floor of City Hall, One Crocker Boulevard. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Or you may use the after-hours drop box located across from the Gazebo.

Consult Do You Have a Toilet Leak? You may also read your meter at night and check it first thing in the morning before using any water. If any numbers have changed you have a leak. Contact a plumber immediately. The City of Mount Clemens cannot adjust bills due to water leaks.

The City has installed radio-reading devices to most homes which will transmit the reading to the Water Department at the time of billing.

Your water meter is in the basement near an outside wall. If you do not have a basement, it’s usually near the hot water heater or under the kitchen sink. It has six digits, which are read left to right.
